Support for TIN persons in cases of gender-specific and sexualized violence
You are not alone!
For TIN people (trans, inter and non-binary people), gender-based and sexualized violence is a real danger and many of us are exposed to this reality in different areas of our everyday lives. Although sexualized violence is an intentional act in which the perpetrator bears sole responsibility, TIN people often feel guilt and shame. When we then look for support, we often find it particularly difficult to go to a specialist advice center. The question is often: “Will the counselor there deal with my queer background in an appropriate and respectful way?” For our project, we can answer this question with a clear “yes”.
Why this project:
Even though studies show that TIN people are particularly exposed to gender-based violence, there are hardly any structures in place to support trans, inter and non-binary people who are affected by gender-based violence. With our services, we want to help ensure that TIN people affected by gender-based violence receive appropriate and professional help.
- We counsel and support people affected by gender-specific and sexualized violence through the TIN project.
- On request, we can establish contact with cooperating counselling centers, where personal support is also possible.
- If desired, we also provide support in making contact with other institutions (e.g. police, shelters, youth welfare services, etc.).
- We work together with the queer contact persons at the police and are happy to put you in touch with the police if you have any questions.
- We offer events and further training for anti-violence counselling facilities and specialist counselling centres on gender-specific and sexualized violence.
You can also contact us by email at the following address: gewaltschutz(at)netzwerk-lsbttiq.net
The following applies to all our services: we support, listen, encourage and accompany you. Everything is treated confidentially and anonymous counselling is of course also possible. (Anonymous here means: we only know your chosen name and possibly your e-mail address).
A first consultation is always free of charge!
As each of our counseling centers has its own requirements and conditions for accepting counseling and therapeutic sessions, please ask during your first contact what options are available for further support and for which services costs may be incurred in the future after the first free appointment. Usually, your counselor will also inform you about further options and the associated possible costs.
